One of the most active groups in any church is the property committee.
They work to keep the building clean; lights working and facilities ready for
every church event. Their volunteer time keeps the church & ECC running
smoothly.
About our Property:
Our original church site was built in 1956 on Hollywood road. In 1983 we had
to move for the new Martin Luther King Drive to be constructed. Our current facilities on Valhi Blvd in Houma,
Louisiana were begun in 1984 with the construction of the Sanctuary. Rear
classrooms were added in 1987 and the Fellowship Hall addition with classrooms
were added in 1991. In 2004 the rear classrooms were converted for use as an
early childhood center which included the addition of a playground with fenced
areas. In 2006 the nursery and kindergarten rooms were combined and upgraded to
house the 2 year old care facility.
Our Daily Use:
Our large Fellowship Hall is used by various
groups for meetings throughout the week. After Sunday services it is the "meet
and greet" area with coffee and goodies. The hall includes a large commercial
kitchen. Between the hall and offices are classrooms used for Sunday School. Our
separate class building and office area room are used daily for the Early
Childhood Center (ages 3 and 4) and the 2 year old program.

Our facilities' interiors are professionally
maintained by the wonderful team from TARC.

We consider our youth to be a great resource and an investment in the future
of the church. Our youth group is also a service group providing the best
biscuits a donation can ever buy on a Sunday morning. All that helps them to
save for the next youth convention. This time in New Orleans in 2010 !

"Consequently, you are
no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God's people and
members of God's household, built on the foundation of the apostles and
prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the cornerstone. In him the whole
building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And
in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives
by his Spirit."
Ephesians 2:19-22
